Nominate a Historic Place

The Register is the national schedule of New Zealand’s treasured heritage places. The NZHPT welcomes nominations for inclusion on the Register from members of the public. If you wish to nominate a historic place or area, please read this information sheet first.

These guidelines will help you to answer each question on the application form. Following the guidelines will strengthen your application.

Applications must be made on the official form. You may download a printable version (pdf) of the application form, or if you prefer, you may complete the form online (pdf). If you are filling in your form online, remember to attach a map (pdf version) or Word document.
