Summary
'Bloomsbury' is one of the few remaining large houses remaining in Woolston, a largely industrial suburb since the 1880s. The house, which dates from 1896, is built of kauri and features an unusual front porch. It is thought that this house was once lived in by a manager of the Woolston Tannery. For the local community, this house is a significant example of their suburb's heritage.
